Voice

In the next class we will practice using our voices to make our presentations more exciting and communicative.

.

Please watch this video HERE. Watch how the woman's second speech is so much better because she uses her voice differently.

.

In the comments, please tell me what you thought was different about her voice.

  1. Hi, Matt.

I thought her intonation became stronger in her second speech.
Also it was very natural because she used facial expressions and gestures too.

  2. Good morning.

In the woman's first speech, she talked in the same tone during the video.Of course her first speech did not have lots of bad points, but I would feel a bit bored and fall asleep if I listen to a professor who talks like her.

In second speech, on the other hand, she talked in a loud voice especially in important points. It allows the audience to notice what she mainly intends to say.

  3. Hello!

In the first speech, she kept on talking in the same tone and it sounded a little bit boring.

I think that she tried to make her voice more energetic in second.
And she seemed to have a conversation with the audience.

  8. Hello.
The woman's first speech was almost good, but I think her way of speaking was a little formal
    and boring.
However,in the second speech,I felt her voice sounded stronger and more vivid. In my opinion, this is because she spoke to her audience as if she enjoyed a conversation with them, and her personality appeared in her speech.

  9. Hi.

I thought her second speech was better because her expression became richer than the first. She also varied the pace of her speeches in the socond, so it was pleasant to listen to her voice.

I think her second speech was more animated, because she changed her voice tones as cituations of the story changed.

I thought that her second speech was much better because her voice became various. When she talks about exciting part, her voice got louder. On the other hand, when she want the audience to listen carefully, her voice was slow so that they can hear her.

  16. Hi!

Variation in the rhythms of her movements and voices gave savor to her second speech. When she started to talk, she walked around and got attention. When she said what she wanted to say,she stopped and talked slowly.

    I want to speech more!!

  17. Hi!

I thought the second one is better, because she speaks with intonation and puts stress on what she really wants to say. This makes audiences more excited. And she also makes poses, so it is easier for the audience to follow her story in the second speech.

    See you tomorrow.

  21. Hi, Matt.

In the first speech, her voice was monotone. There was no change in the volume and the speed. So I felt a little bored.
But in the second speech, her voice became clear and the change in the volume and the speed increased the reality. Also, she looked to be excited.

  22. Hi, Matt.
I wonder whether this is actually the homework for today's class...
'Cause, you know, it says, "Next class is 'Voice.'" It was TODAY'S!

Anyways, in the first speech, her voice was monotone, and she looked nervous. In the second speech, however, her voice was much stronger and she looked relaxed since she was using more gestures. Also, I liked her changing her volume when she talked about her child.
